Raymond Horace Fitchett was an uncle of mine. He survived the sinking of
HMS Exeter at the Battle of the Java Sea and was captured by the Japanese. I
believe he was working in a coal mine near Nagasaki when the 'A' bomb was
dropped. He survived the war, was married in England, emigrated to Calgary
Canada, had three children there and died in 1998. Please contact Andy (webmaster) with any information. |
